Akram Ul Haq is a percussive finger-style guitarist from Hyderabad, India. Akram’s music is instrumental storytelling through both eastern and western influences mixed. Above and beyond technical proficiency, it's an eye candy for the viewers and deeply introspective for the listeners.
His music is not in any one language and connects with people around the world, emotionally. It can be described as poetry through a guitar! A one man band without a looper, Akram layers melody, harmony, rhythm with percussions with seeming effortlessness.
His journey began over a decade ago with its inception playing for a popular death metal band, post which he went on to study western classical guitar to a high proficiency level. These beginnings mixed with his exploration of Indian musical notes while incorporating global feels lead to his signature brand of tunes. Through his unique humanistic pedagogy, he now enables budding guitarists to tap into their emotional fingerprints and realise their musical potential. Akram’s musical heroes and influences are Gustavo Santaolalla, Porcupine Tree, Mike Dawes, Kaki King, Jon Gomm, Andy Mckee & Metallica.
